SUSAN SCHROEER
Susan has been a consultant to leaders in human resources strategies and change management for over 25 years. As a consultant and then Vice President with Boyle/Kirkman Associates, Susan’s areas of expertise included: designing and conducting needs analyses, designing and implementing training programs, coaching executives, team building, outplacement and career development and achieving results in a changing environment. Since founding S.G. Schroeer & Associates, her focus has been in finding commonality within difference and in using difference as a source of creative energy for increased productivity and customer satisfaction. Her clients include: Sprint, Mobil Oil, Johnson and Johnson, Chase Manhattan Bank, MetLife, Coca Cola, and American Airlines.
Susan earned a BS and an MA from Ohio State University and has completed the two-year post graduate Organizations and Systems Development Program at The Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. She also has Satir Systems Training in Organizational Development. She has taught business students for Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and the State University of New York and has published The Emerging Role of Women in Business and Successful Hiring Through Skillful Interviewing Techniques.
After three decades of international travel, Susan has shifted her priorities and now focuses on coaching the leaders of small local businesses and/or individuals in transition. She has developed a form of short term coaching specifically designed for people who usually cope well with challenges but are stuck in a transition that leaves them without their usual clarity and decisiveness.
Since relocating from New York ten years ago, Susan lives and works in Durham, North Carolina. She has two daughters both of whom are in the process of relocating their families to Charlottesville Virginia: one from Brooklyn N.Y. and one from Berkeley, California. Soon Susan will be able to visit easily with her children, her in-laws and her three grandchildren, all of which she loves to do. When she’s not working or visiting family, Susan enjoys theater, good conversation and perusing estate sales and markets for unusual pieces to include in the jewelry she designs and creates.
